Editing (the wrong editors)

Well once more I have stumbled on a problem that with forethought would never have happened. Editors are a strange commodity and I have come to believe that no two are the same. I had the book the last warrior edited by a professional and you would think that by me doing this my story would look slick and ready to publish. Wrong.
SUNSET
There are editors and then again there are editors for your particular need, and I am afraid that I never picked the right editor. Please don’t get me wrong, because the editor that I used was very good and the book was slick and grammatically correct. The trouble I had with manuscript was that it had been treated in much the same way as a teacher would correct an English paper.
SUNRISE OVER STONEHENGE SUMMER SOLSTICE
There was no more life in the story on its return than there was before the editor received the draught manuscript. I place this firmly at my feet not at the editors. In my enthusiasm to get published I had gone on the internet and more or less picked the one that I thought had the best credentials. Once again I was wrong, and I think that it was a costly mistake. After speaking with another editor I am now going through the story once more and building on what is already there.
LONE BIRCH AT SUNSET
I found the mistake out when getting another book edited called The Dunce at The Back of the Class. I had this one edited by a person that had also had a book of their own published. I found that with the encouragement the editor gave me, there were also a few pointers to help me make the story flow better. The story is now improved and is now published.

Be well Ian
